Wicked Yummy Turnip Puff
- 1 Rutabega (about 3 cups)
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp flour
- 3 or 4 tbsp margarine
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- dash of pepper
- paprika
Cut up the rutabega. They are really hard to cut. I either get my husband to do it or i take a knife and get it in as far as i can then smash the rutabega on the floor into a half and then again into quarters. Cut off all the skin and cut the inside into small cubes. Throw them into a large pot and boil (just like potatoes). They take quite a while to soften up, probably about twice as long as potatoes.
Once they are soft, drain them and put them in a large bowl and mash thoroughly with egg and margarine. Add other ingredients (minus paprika) and blend with an electric mixer until there are no chunks at all. Pour into a 9×13 baking dish and sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes.
